Michael: Over the five seasons of this show, I gotta say one of the things I was most thankful for was Mathew. He was always so...supportive, and solid, and positive, and good. In my second audition for the part I read with him in New York, and we just sorta had this chemistry, and I knew that, you know, if I got the part, he probably would too. I'm very thankful for his presence in the life of the show.
Lauren: And a good smelling actor.
Michael: And thank GOD! Always smelled good.
Lauren: Smells of vanilla, or patchouli -
Michael: - Yeah, both.
Lauren: Or vanilla patchouli.
Michael: His breath was never bad. Never.
Lauren: Wow, that's a gift.
Michael: ...Mine might have been.

Being an actress is similar to trying to fit in with the popular kids in high school. You’re expected to drive the right car, wear the right clothes and say the right things.

“There’s a real comfort in going to work and having this working relationship with these people you’ve been acting with. And I think that defines the ‘family’ relationships also, that we’ve been around each other for a long time now. They’re so devoted to what they do and they’re just so even and not full of themselves and not crazy. They’re crazy in their own good ways. There’s something about this job that’s really special.”
